This is great movie but has a sad tone when compared to other musicals. There many noteable performances but my favorite is "Thanks a Lot But No Thanks" by Dolores Gray. It's a spoof of the power that beautiful women have over men. The WOmWAm website has an interesting analysis.
Cyd Charrise will be missed. "Baby You Knock Me Out" from IAFW is one of her best performances. Her skill and energy is amazing. Gene's dance on roller skates is truly original. Michael Kidd's "Jack and The Space Giants" number was cut from the movie before release but luckily it can be seen as an extra on the DVD. Dolores Gray's shocking performance has her seducing and killing off admiring suitors much to her delight. Marilyn Monroe's "Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend" isn't nearly as good.
